Andrew is a lifelong mining animal with over 40 years spent on mining operations and projects, as well as more than 5 years spent in 'Head Office'. Having grown up living on South African iron ore, coal, manganese and gold mining operations, he then went to university graduating with an Honour's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993. With extensive additional experience in mining capital project development, he emigrated to Canada in 2003, graduating with a PhD in Mining and Mineral Process Engineering from UBC in 2008. There he founded and ran the company MineSense, before moving to the UK in 2018 as MD, UK where he has been laser-focussed on corporate development, as well as business development and project execution for the company globally.
Innovations in European Mining Projects
The successful development and commissioning of mining projects in any jurisdiction is highly challenging, not least in Europe. Bara Consulting has been involved in such work since 2013, both evaluating. designing and developing projects in the jurisdiction since that time. In order for many projects to get over the line as it were, innovation is required, whether that is innovation in design, project delivery or financing as the case may be. This presentation covers a range of projects undertaken by Bara Consulting for our clients based in Europe and elsewhere, where innovation in conception or design has been required in order to get the project off the ground, never mind into operation.
